STYLE - New Single from 2080s Releases 27th June

"I hate the words you're saying, but I love your stupid clothes."

This is Style - the new electronic pop track from Wrexham's 2080s (Robert Corcoran). A synthesiser-backed rumination on what it means to choose style over substance in the age of digital romance.

"This track is from my new EP and live show. It's about exploring the way we seem to prioritise 'style' and something that looks good in the moment, over the work required to obtain a real connection. It's tongue in cheek, with spiky lyrics set against dancey synths and drums. A sad, sexy, long breath out - before moving on and trying again."

The release is accompanied by a new music video (23.6) and dual artwork. Inside the video, Rob plays two versions of the character ‘X’ from the 2080s live show - attempting to completely reimagine their look and redefine their identity. Fire, fashion and found footage from a 2023 trip to Los Angeles are intercut to create a dreamy meditation on the power of images and reflections.

2080s new EP ‘It Goes Away Sometimes’ will be released in July, including previously released tracks Six ten, Hitlist and Confidence, along with another new track.

The release will coincide with 2080s first ever European show, at Ana Destetnica Festival in Ljubljana, Slovenia.
